This Vintage Jar Style Will Give Your Kitchen Perfect Fall Vibes

When the leaves start changing color, stores start filling up with products like pumpkin spice seasoning blend. And when autumn arrives there is a wonderful opportunity to dress up your kitchen with new fall decorations. One great example is apothecary jars. Apothecary jars have a vintage look even if they were just made last year (and if you can get your hands on genuinely vintage ones, that's even better). They can be part of the background or the centerpiece of your fall decor.

Traditionally, apothecary jars came in a variety of colors depending on what they were used for. Amber jars in particular look fantastic as fall decor, but any color can bring a touch of autumn into your home by using seasonal customizations, plus some of our kitchen decor placement tips. There are plenty of ideas out there when it comes to fun, fall-themed items for apothecary jars.

Ideas for your kitchen apothecary jars

To fill your apothecary jars, use tiny decorative fall gourds with string lights or battery-operated tea lights. Take some raffia fiber, shape it similar to a bird's nest, and lay it on the bottom of the jar. Lay the string lights on top of the nest, and use your tiny gourds in the center to hide the battery pack. If using a tea light, put that in the center instead, and use the gourds to frame it.

You can also use decorative leaves, pinecones, acorns, and other fall staples. Dried corn kernels and legumes can be layered to create an attractive base for a tea light. Silk flowers in autumnal colors also look beautiful inside apothecary jars. Fill your jar with your chosen blend until it's about a ½-inch from the top edge, then tie an autumnal ribbon around the base. Place your jars with other seasonal items like fall-hued candles or mini pumpkins.
