The 2-Ingredient Chocolate Treat That Tastes Like Halloween
It's that time of year again. The weather is cooling down, the ghouls are coming out to play, and the 31st of October is rapidly approaching. As Halloween comes up, candy and treats are at the top of everyone's grocery lists. Figuring out how much store-bought Halloween candy to buy is okay, but if you really want something delicious that makes your next Halloween party stand out, homemade treats are the way to go.
One Halloween treat is incredibly easy to make because all it takes are two ingredients: white chocolate and dark chocolate. Simply melt both separately, then pour the dark chocolate into muffin molds (or any other mold you wish). Using a frosting bag (or heck, even a small plastic bag with the tip cut off), pipe a circle of white chocolate onto the dark chocolate. Use a toothpick to make a tail at the bottom and turn it into a little ghost. Add another few dabs of dark chocolate for eyes and a mouth, and you have a delicious spooky treat that will make your house a trick-or-treating destination for the whole neighborhood.
Of course, ghosts aren't all you can make, and you are free to mix up the ingredients you use. Grab some colored candy melts and a few extra toothpicks, then decorate your chocolate treats with pumpkins, bats, or spiderwebs. Some designs might be a little more complicated than others, but don't fret; they're all delicious, and they'll all end up in your stomach at the end of the day.
Customize your spooky treats
Different designs aren't the only way to customize your super-simple Halloween treats. You can easily enhance your chocolate cups with different ingredients, like bits of fruit, the Halloween staple of candy corn, or peanut butter (of course, don't include peanuts or other common allergens if you plan to hand out your creations). Simply pour half the dark chocolate into the mold, drop in your extras, and pour the rest of the dark chocolate atop.
You're also not limited to white chocolate and dark chocolate. Reverse them for white chocolate cups with dark chocolate ghosts, or try other types of chocolate. If you're feeling bougie, try something fancy, like berry-flavored ruby chocolate or caramel-forward blonde chocolate. You can even blend them together or make streaks for fun flavor combinations.
Furthermore, you can use whatever kind of molds you like for your chocolate cups. There are Halloween-themed molds for expressly this purpose available in brick-and-mortar stores and online retailers. Make spooky peanut butter-filled pumpkins or dark chocolate vampire bats filled with raspberry jam. If you're really motivated, you can even use silicone to make your own chocolate molds, so the only limit is your imagination.
