Dunkin' Adds A Fruity New Refresher And Loaf Flavor Just In Time For Summer

Summer is coming fast, and our friends at Dunkin' let us know that the chain is ready to add a fruity, nutty twist to the warmer days ahead. In an email to Foodie, Dunkin' shared news of three new menu items dropping April 30th at participating locations nationwide. There's a Tropical Guava Dunkin' Refresher, featuring an energy boost that includes B vitamins. It joins Dunkin's popular Refresher lineup, all of which are marketed as a drive-thru pick-me-up. Another sweet, fruity treat is the Strawberry Lemon Loaf, which comes individually packaged for grab-and-go snacking. Rounding out the summer offerings is a limited-time latte flavored with pistachio.

Certain things about Dunkin' have historically made us go "hmm?", including what makes their coffee milk unique and whatever they put in their Munchkins to make them so craveable. There's not a doubt in our minds, however, that both Tropical Guava and pistachio are sure to send hearts aflutter among the fast food chain's fans. Tropical fruit is practically synonymous with summertime in culinary shorthand, and pistachio is a coffeehouse favorite that does very well not only at Dunkin', but at big competitor Starbucks, where the (admittedly seasonal) syrup is an ingredient in the viral Dubai chocolate drink. Adding even more excitement is the fact that the new menu items aren't the only news that Dunkin' had to share.

A funny commercial and a meal deal put the focus on Dunkin' this summer

If you saw Dunkin's 2025 Superbowl ad featuring a trailer for the fictional "DunKings 2" movie, then you know the chain is capable of plenty of silly, tongue-in-cheek humor. It delivers another helping of funny and effective promo with its "Not Just a Snack" ad campaign featuring celebrity heartthrobs James Marsden, Charles Melton, Tramell Tillman, Gavin Casalegno, Dylan Efron, and a cameo from comedian Zarna Garg. In the ad, each of these comely male celebrities uses the drive-thru as surrogate therapy to come to the conclusion that they are "not just a snack ... they're the whole meal." Garg plays the none-too-patient Dunkin' employee who is just trying to make her drive-thru time goals.

The promotion celebrates Dunkin' unveiling of its new $6 Meal Deal. For six bucks (bet you didn't see that one coming!), you get a Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich, a packet of hash browns, and your choice of either a 14-ounce medium hot or 24-ounce medium iced coffee. In a time when every consumer is looking for more bang for their buck when it comes to food, that's definitely a competitive offering. The deal is being offered all day while your local Dunkin' is open (subject to participation), meaning that you can snap it up for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or — don't tell the Hollywood hotties — just a snack.
