What Does Dolly Parton Order From Taco Bell?

Dolly Parton is no stranger to great food, having come out with her own branded wine and an assortment of freezer meals and desserts – including a frozen, thaw-and-eat chocolate pie that's taken the internet by storm. In addition to being a grande dame of country music, Parton is also a self-professed Southern cook, specializing in the comfort foods that the women in her family taught her how to put together. But one of Dolly's own comfort food combos is neither Southern in origin nor homemade... it comes from a drive-thru! While many celebrities have a favorite McDonald's order, Queen Dolly likes Taco Bell, and one specific a la carte meal in particular.

Parton told Business Insider that the Bell was a favorite of hers and her late husband, Carl Dean. Parton painted a charming picture of Dean driving their RV through the drive-thru with Parton in the passenger seat. (She said that sometimes she got recognized by employees, but not always.) At Taco Bell, she orders a Mexican Pizza, a soft Taco Supreme, and a side of rice and beans, with packets of mild sauce. This filling, budget-friendly meal represents some of the best that the Taco Bell menu has to offer. Parton's explanations for why she chooses these particular menu items are deliberate and intentional with thoughts for both practicality and flavor.

You can eat Taco Bell like Dolly (or other celebs)

At our beloved Tex Mex drive thru, some folks go loco for nacho fries, while others just have to have chips and guac, thanks to the unique ingredient that Taco Bell adds to its guacamole. Parton's Taco Bell order is partially informed by its ability to be eaten while driving. She points out that crunchy tacos tend to fall apart and make a mess, but that a soft taco keeps its fillings contained — especially sour cream, which is her favorite part.

Parton is not the only famous celebrity lover of Taco Bell. Olivia Rodrigo orders a Crunchwrap veggie-style, with refried beans instead of meat, no sour cream, and no cheese. Chappell Roan was holding a Baja Blast on the cover of her single, "Casual," and likes to throw back a Grilled Cheese Burrito. Selena Gomez, like Dolly Parton, loves Mexican Pizza. In October 2022, Pete Davidson contributed heavily to a sales spike in Taco Bell breakfast when he endorsed the chain's morning offerings. And who could forget when Doja Cat hit in the bushes to try and photobomb customers in the chain's 2025 Super Bowl spots? Doja Cat is another celeb whose love for Mexican Pizza is well-documented. While there's a long list of great regional fast food chains, we respect the fact that, on road trips, Parton chooses the familiar and opts for the Bell.
