The Starbucks Coffee Drink That Was Inspired By A Massive Pop Culture Franchise
We go a little nuts for Starbucks "secret menu" hacks that produce delicious results like the viral Dubai chocolate drink that trended on TikTok in the past. With the final season of Netflix's smash hit "Stranger Things" kicking off in November 2025, we're loving a sweet custom Frappuccino that invokes the favorite food of telekinetic main character Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown): Eggo waffles. When Eleven escapes from a top-secret lab in Season 1, she falls in love with frozen waffles ... and, now, you can fall in love with a Starbucks handcrafted drink that calls to mind the maple-y, delicious flavor of toasted Eggos. Just don't expect your barista to recognize it by name! You will need to custom-order this drink, but it's not hard.
Ask for a grande White Mocha Frappuccino made with sweet cream instead of milk, a pump of Toffee Nut syrup, and extra caramel drizzle all around the sides and top of the cup. The end result is a treat that might put an elusive smile on Eleven's stoic face. Starbuck's lineup of bakery items doesn't actually include any waffles, but this frapp is a pretty darn good alternative to order at the drive-thru before sitting down to binge old episodes of "Stranger Things" as you get ready for the final showdown of good versus evil in Hawkins, Indiana. But Eleven's signature Frappuccino isn't the only Starbucks creation to ever evoke the show, whether it's a custom order or official menu item.
Other Stranger Things drinks exist, both official and otherwise
Back in 2022, when Season 4 of "Stranger Things" premiered — has it really been that long? — Starbucks rolled out a drink exclusive to Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay called the "Stranger Frappuccino." It featured a strawberry-mocha blend that, in Starbucks's own words, "add[ed] a fun topsy turvy element as customers [were] transported to the Upside Down in search for answers." Customers not in the Southern Cone region have successfully hacked the Starbucks menu for other drinks that call to mind "Stranger Things" characters, like the "Demogorgon Frappuccino" that stars a Grande Green Tea Frappuccino with one scoop of matcha, added java chips and white mocha, and strawberry drizzle all over the cup with mocha syrup up top. We've also seen a "Will Byers" drink on TikTok, inspired by Noah Schnapp's shy, unlikely sidekick. The result is a blended strawberry lemonade with extra strawberry puree for color.
In terms of related "Stranger Things" Starbucks lore, star Jamie Campbell Bower has said that his go-to order, a venti Salted Caramel Cream Cold Brew with extra foam, is known on the set as "the Vecna" because it powers him up to play the terrifying villain with roots in "Dungeons & Dragons" lore. The confession came after Netflix posted a time-lapse video in which Bower sips Starbucks during his extended time in the makeup chair while he's transformed into Vecna via makeup and prosthetics.
