The Worst Crumbl Cookie Flavor Was Better Off As Candy

Are you a Crumbl fan? The cookie chain, which started with the simple goal of selling the perfect chocolate chip cookie, is now one of the fastest-growing dessert shops in the United States. The chain has expanded way beyond the chocolate chip cookie, now featuring new cookies and other desserts every week in addition to its basic offerings. We reviewed 15 Crumbl cookies to see how they ranked, judging the cookies on taste, texture, and how well each delivered on its name. Our reviewer was surprised at which one turned out to be her least favorite: The Chocolate Reese's Pieces cookie.

As a fan of Reese's Pieces herself, she naturally expected to like this cookie. Sadly, she says, "it just didn't have the sparkle that I had come to expect from a Crumbl cookie." One major off-putting factor was the texture. Our reviewer had come to expect Crumbl cookies to be pillowy soft, but the Chocolate Reese's Pieces cookie was much harder. She also did not feel that the Reese's Pieces added enough flavor to offset the disappointing texture. She clarified that she still wouldn't describe the cookie as bad, but that she wouldn't classify it as being worth the price of a Crumbl cookie. There are many discontinued Crumbl cookies that regulars hope will have a comeback, but our reviewer wouldn't add this one to the list.

What others are saying

Most other reviewers liked the cookie more than our reviewer, but shared some of her opinions nonetheless. One Reddit reviewer who is also a Crumbl employee gave the Chocolate Reese's Pieces cookie a 7.5 out of 10. Although they liked the cookie overall, they agreed with our reviewer that the cookie's texture is too hard, and wished it were softer and thicker. They described themselves as a fan of chocolate and peanut butter as a flavor combination, and overall preferred the Crumbl Peanut Butter Cup cookie that the chain featured previously.

Other reviewers liked the Chocolate Reese's Pieces cookie more. Some appreciated that it was jam-packed with Reese's Pieces. Interestingly, one reviewer on YouTube, although they loved the cookie overall, felt that it would benefit from a stronger peanut butter flavor in the cookie base. Even though they spoke far more favorably about the cookie than our reviewer, we can't help but notice that there is a common thread between reviews: In addition to wanting a softer cookie, people also seemed to crave a stronger peanut butter flavor that the cookie's chocolate base just didn't provide. In sharp contrast, our reviewer loved the Crumbl Cookie Dough Crumbl cookie, and most of the internet heartily agrees.
