Don't Miss These New Costco Items To Buy In January 2026

January is a month of beginnings. It's the start of a fresh year, and, for many, the kickoff to a spate of spankin' new resolutions just waiting to be tested. After you drink all your New Year's Eve Champagne and toast to auld lang syne, it's time to tackle 2026. Costco, the ancestral home of cheap hot dogs and rotisserie chickens, will be helping to dispel your midwinter doldrums with some exciting new products just begging you to take them home on your next stock-up trip. Most of us have our list of tried-and-true Costco must-haves, but half the fun of shopping at this warehouse retailer is discovering unique treasures. 

The following are some of the items that we'll be eyeballing in January 2026 and, hopefully, adding to our rotation. Keep in mind that Costco has a tendency to pull items — even popular ones! — from shelves with zero warning or explanation (although some discontinued products have eventually returned) and that some new items are limited-time offers. We're something of chocoholics here at Foodie — and that goes for all the different chocolate types — so you can imagine our reaction when we saw this dense, rich, oh-so-cocoa-tastic loaf cake in Costco's bakery section. We hear that you can cut a dozen slices out of this abundant dessert, but the question remains: how many will you hoard for yourself? We can easily imagine snuggling up to a slice of this loaf with a steaming cup of coffee or tea on a bitterly cold day.

We recently covered the best Mexican restaurants in every state, but when it comes to eating at home, ready-made tamales are a huge time-saving win. These are packed with seasoned, saucy chicken and heat quickly, which is a combination we can't resist. As a bonus, these tamales are also gluten-free. We love a quick, delicious weeknight dinner option, and these just shot to the top of our list.

A returning treat that customers clamor for, Costco's cinnamon rolls are large, pillowy, and absolutely perfect for a decadent breakfast ... just heat and enjoy. There's a slew of mistakes that can happen when baking homemade cinnamon rolls, so, sometimes, it's nice to buy them ready-made and remove most of the guesswork from the equation. The Kirkland Signature rolls are slathered in an abundance of icing, ensuring that you get delightfully sticky sweetness with every bite.

It even comes with a waterproof cover, ensuring that the contents are protected from the elements.

We're all about high protein dinners that are as convenient as they are delicious, and we think Costco might have hit that very trifecta here. No need to worry about what chain's chicken nuggets have more protein than those from McDonald's when you have a weeknight pinch-hitter right in your freezer. There are six stuffed breasts in this box. They require less than an hour in the oven for melty, salty, meaty goodness that will have you glad you didn't waste money on takeout.

We enjoy tofu as a veggie-friendly protein (even if we had to learn some hacks for marinating it) and, like social media users, we were excited to see Costco bringing the Kirkland Signature excellence to the tofu game. We love the price on this one-pound box almost as much as we love all the yummy meals we can prepare with it, like omelettes, stir-fries, scrambles, and soups! We predict this versatile ingredient will be the new VIP of our shopping carts this year.
