The Best Publix Items Added In March 2026
It's said that, at Publix, shopping is a pleasure. If this maxim is incorrect, you certainly can't prove it by us. Whether we're swinging by the supermarket on the best days to shop at Publix (hands down), or even the dreaded weekends, we've always got a little skip in our step when we push our shopping cart through those automatic doors. Not just because we're about to grab our all-the-time faves, like deli soups that are better than Panera's, but because we get a glimpse of what's new and interesting on the shelves of our favorite grocery store. Like most retailers, Publix keeps its inventory from feeling stale by dedicating shelf space to new items inspired by seasons, holidays, and culinary trends.
In March, we're loving some of the fresh options we have at Publix. From a whole range of strawberry-flavored items to herald the arrival of spring — we chose a spread that tastes like a milkshake! — to a hot new bombshell entering the villa PubSub counter, our taste buds have never been more primed for excitement. Keep in mind that pricing and availability are subject to change, both between Publix stores and over time. Some items are limited buys, so grab them while they're available!
Strawberry Shake Flavored Spread
Publix recently rolled out a whole array of strawberry goodies for its Strawberry Celebration, from oat muffins to cheesecake. To read some of the reviews of this shake-inspired spread, it's giving us dessert hummus vibes, only without the chickpeas. You can turn a strawberry into the perfect garden starter, but, with this spread, you can evoke a strawberry milkshake on your cookies, toast, or spoon (we won't judge!). If you can dip it, you should do so. Sugar is the first ingredient, so this is definitely a sweet treat.
Decadent Assorted Cookies 4-Count
You currently can't buy Crumbl cookies from the grocery store, but right now, you can purchase Publix's dupe of the oversized, pillowy-soft confections that have taken the nation by storm. The store offers four flavors: chocolate, cookies and cream, vanilla celebration, and raspberry cream cheese. Pick up two-packs of just one flavor or spring for this four-pack, which offers one cookie of each variety. You'd also better grab a gallon of milk, because we see some dunking in your future.
Publix Tzatziki Dip
There are a lot of baking ingredients that you can swap with Greek yogurt, but perhaps our favorite application of the creamy, thick dairy product is mixing it with cucumber, garlic, and dill for a versatile take on classic tzatziki sauce. We're loving the Publix version with grilled chicken and pita, naturally, but we're also keeping a container on hand for scooping up with raw veggies. Don't make fun, but we've even been known to scoop some up with crackers and a sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning. Holy yum!
Publix Sweet & Spicy Chili Chicken Tender Sub
The Publix "PubSub" is legendary for a reason — it offers way better customizations than Subway. This is to say nothing of the scrumptious freshness and great taste. We predict that the masses will fall in love with the latest spin on Publix's iconic chicken tender sub, which is drizzled with a sweet and hot chili sauce. Load it up with your choice of cheese and veggies, and baby, you've got dinner. Opt for a half sub to enjoy now, or a full-sized sandwich for either heartier appetites or guaranteed leftovers.
Publix Bacon & Cheddar Gourmet Beef Meatballs
We've discussed the best way to freeze meatballs as part of meal prep, but Publix is handily removing all the guesswork with packages of fresh meatballs that are one trip through the oven away from a piping-hot, savory dinner. The grocery store's fresh meatballs always serve, but we think this new variety, with chunks of cheddar and bacon, will likely remind us of a juicy cheeseburger in the best way. Sliders, anyone?
Publix Mashed Potatoes with Gravy
We adore mashed potatoes, but we always get hung up on how to prepare them. Do we turn to Anthony Bourdain's no-frills method, or add a secret ingredient for fluffy taters? Publix, as ever, knows just what we want — real cubed potatoes that are dotted with tiny frozen pucks of homestyle gravy, just ready to heat and serve. For a weeknight dinner, it doesn't get better than this. These spuds are a step up from potato flakes, but just as convenient, if not even more so.
Publix Mild Italian Sausage with Broccoli Rabe and Romano Cheese
Okay, this isn't Kramarczuk's, a Minnesota deli famous for its sausages, but you have to give Publix credit for delivering a worthy contender when it comes to fresh links. These sausages are studded with broccoli rabe and Romano cheese, giving them a distinctly Italian flair that's just right for the type of sausage they are. We might grill them up with peppers and onions as others have done and stick 'em on a bun, or sear them off and slice them into a cream-sauced pasta. The possibilities are endless.
Publix Spinach Salad
As opposed to Watergate salad, which is really more like a dessert, Publix's deli salads are rich with a bounty of colorful, wholesome veggies that will help you feel good about grabbing your meal from a fridge case. Color us impressed that the social media snaps of this spinach salad look just as good as stock photos, if not better — the ripeness and freshness of the veg leaps off the page. Plus, spinach is a much nicer green than limp iceberg lettuce. All we need is a packet of dressing.
Limited Edition Salsa Verde Seasoned Cashews
Cashews narrowly miss landing on the list of foods with more protein than eggs, but we still love them as a healthy snack. We're feeling especially munchy knowing that Publix has unveiled salsa verde cashews in packages for the ultimate grab-and-go afternoon repast. Salsa verde isn't always as spicy as other salsas, but it makes up for that lessened heat in sheer flavor. We actually can't wait to try these and judge for ourselves how picante they actually manage to be.
Rum Petite Bundt Cake
Rum and chocolate are a match made in heaven, but let's not discount vanilla and rum, either. These petite Bundt cakes are piped with a swirl of rum cream that delivers nuanced, adult flavor without the boozy side effects of Captain Jack Sparrow's favorite quaff. These would look splendid arrayed on a tiered tray on your Easter table, we think, or you can keep them in the kitchen to munch as you're prepping dinner.
Key Lime Cupcakes 6-Count
Nothing sings the song of the Sunshine State quite like Key lime pie — including Florida's native "swamp chicken" meat — and Publix, being a Floridian institution, knows exactly what we like. These portable, individual-sized cakes aren't as visually impressive as a whole key lime pie, but they'll go down deliciously with some of Publix's deli lemonade as the days grow hotter. We might grab some graham crackers and crush a few extra over the top for an experience more like noshing the crust of the pie.
Orange Cream Pop Bar Cake
Publix took a drubbing on our list of the best and worst store-bought orange juices, but we're willing to give it another chance when it comes to citrus. This returning favorite limited-edition bar cake evokes all the childlike joy you got from slurping an orange creamsicle, only in baked form. Without having tasted it, admittedly, we are already excited about the orange zest on top of the cake, which promises an aromatic burst of genuine fruit flavor. Some folks start their day with OJ; Publix just gave us an excuse to have a similar cake for breakfast.
