Time, as they say, waits for no man, but nor does it hang around very long for the eagle-eyed Trader Joe's shopper. We've spent 2026 showcasing the various foodie delights available at this much-loved retailer, but as we nibble the must-have snacks for September 2026 and wash them down with our choice of TJ's drinks for the same month, we find ourselves in a reflective mood. With just a bit of 2026 left to run (who knows what delicious morsels those weeks will bring?), we're minded to look back at the dessert goodies we've been treated to so far by Trader Joe's.

This retrospective includes a swing by the frozen section for a coffee lover's dream, a mini sheet cake we thought was a perfect 10, a fruity Danish that achieved the near-impossible task of uniting the internet, and a cake fit for princesses of all ages. At the time of writing, some of these limited-run or seasonal items might still be around, so it's worth keeping your eyes peeled, while all pricing and availability details were correct but subject to change.

2 Affogatos Vanilla Non-Dairy Frozen Desserts

Trader Joe's kicked off 2026 in sophisticated style with this vegan-friendly delight. It has everything we need to recreate the iconic Italian dessert, plus you get the fun of making and pouring the included sachet of coffee over the frozen vanilla dessert. Perfect for a lunchtime treat, after-supper dessert, or anytime pick-me-up, don't be tempted to dive in before it's fully mixed or you'll miss out on the delicate balance of flavors.

Raspberry Muffins

February got a filip with these fruit muffins from TJ's bakery. The secret to their success? Sour cream in the batter (though we'd also add the mighty streusel topping), which gave the muffins a delicious texture and hint of tang. Many buyers found these raspberry muffins were at their very best served warm, either after a spin in the microwave or air fryer, and adding a dollop of peanut butter was popular too.

Toasted Coconut Mini Sheet Cake

March madness arrived in the form of this coconut-forward mini sheet cake. We fell in love with the moist, dreamy cake and would have been happy with it had the retailer left it at that. But Trader Joe's went above and beyond, bringing a sweet that was topped with cream cheese frosting and more coconut flakes than we could throw a stick at. Did we eat lots of these in the course of our reporting? Yes. Yes, we did.

Cookie Dough Ice Cream Bites

You know a dessert is off the hook when social media users come together to sing its praises, and never was a truer word spoken for TJ's cookie dough ice cream bites, which dropped around April. They were an exquisite combination of ice cream morsels enveloped in cookie dough and have made it to our list of desserts (three in a bowl counts, right?) that we will always be on the lookout for.

Strawberry Brioche Style Liège Waffles

May brought with it a breath of fresh, albeit fruity, air with these brioche-style waffles. We relished the mix of crunchy and soft textures, while the tiny pieces of strawberry served tartness and the pearl sugar ushered in the sweet. We loved to have them warm with a scoop of ice cream on a spring evening, but — truth be told — they were great for breakfast too!

Lemon Flavored Tiramisu

Made by the same Italian supplier behind Trader Joe's traditional tiramisu, this lemon-flavored version stood out from the frozen dessert crowd in June. Shoppers got two individual portions for their money, which featured lemon-infused mascarpone cheese and lemon curd atop lemon-soaked ladyfinger biscuits. If yellow citrus was your thing, then these beauties were the cat's pajamas. The only downside? Waiting around eight hours for them to thaw out!

Wildberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Any time is ice cream time, but around July, TJ's regulars were over the moon when this limited-edition dessert returned to stores, and rightly so. Crammed into each pint was a delicious muddle of strawberry, raspberry, and blackberry purées, as well as elderberry juice concentrate, blueberries, cheesecake lumps, and sweet cream ice cream. One Redditor was all of us when they wrote, "Oh boy. This is trouble."

Cherry Almond Kringle

Every time Trader Joe's wheels out a new kringle flavor, we all dash out to try the delicious Danish. In August, there was a near-stampede for the cherry almond kringle, courtesy of Wisconsin's O&H Danish Bakery. The buttery, flaky pastry contrasted beautifully with the tartness of the Montmorency cherries, while the almond filling and sweet icing balanced the whole thing out. We were among the customers who wished the center of the oval had been filled in too!

Swedish Princess Raspberry Cake

September was a pumpkin-fest at Trader Joe's, but when the fallout from, er, fall was done and dusted, we were presented with a new crop of desserts, including this gem taking on the classic Swedish prinsesstårta. A feather-light sponge, cut with pastry cream and strawberry jam, topped with the heftiest dollop of whipped cream, was covered in pale green marzipan. We think it simply begged to be cut into and — elegantly — devoured.
