What's your favorite Little Debbie snack? The Little Debbie company has been making iconic sweets since 1960, so there's quite a lot to choose from nowadays. Since its inception, the company has sold dozens of different packaged desserts, but the very first one was its now-famous Oatmeal Creme Pie. The classic snack is made from oat and molasses-based cookies, as well as a milk-based creme filling, creating a treat that's still popular today. Unfortunately, its cousin, the PB&J Oatmeal Pie, has joined the ranks of discontinued Little Debbie snacks. What's worse, it's unlikely to make a comeback, much to the disappointment of peanut butter and jelly fans everywhere.

PB&J Oatmeal Pies used the same oatmeal and molasses-based cookies as the original Oatmeal Creme Pies. However, they did away with the creme filling and instead replaced it with a combo of peanut butter and grape jelly. While this sounds like a tasty idea, it seems that most Little Debbie customers were not in the market for an oatmeal creme pie ... minus the creme.

The company later stated that there simply wasn't enough interest from consumers to justify producing the snack. However, that hasn't stopped some peanut butter and jelly superfans from reminiscing about the product. Some have even attempted to convince the company to bring them back via a 2018 Change.org petition that has racked up almost 9,000 signatures as of 2025. Unfortunately, as with so many other food-based petitions on the site, this one does not seem to have led to any change over at Little Debbie headquarters.

Other Little Debbie's snacks for peanut butter lovers

Sadly, PB&J Oatmeal Pies are far from the only discontinued Little Debbie's snack. Do you happen to remember Little Debbie Fudge Brownies with English Walnuts? Though considered delicious by many, they were one of many snack casualties of the 1990s. However, all hope is not lost for Little Debbie's fans who love the flavor of peanut butter. The company still sells Peanut Butter Creme Cookies, which are two peanut butter cookies with peanut butter creme sandwiches between them. If you wanted to put in just a bit of extra effort, namely a short walk to the pantry, you could add a layer of grape jelly and get reasonably close to replicating the PB&J treat, sans the oatmeal bit.

You can also still buy Nutty Buddy Wafer BarsNutty Buddy Creme Pies, and Nutty Buddy Cakes, all of which feature some form of peanut butter cookies with a chocolate coating and peanut butter creme. Of course, you can also make plenty of delicious peanut butter-based desserts at home, like a Fluffernutter sandwich (made from white bread, peanut butter, and marshmallow fluff) or an equally simple peanut butter and honey sandwich. If peanut butter and jelly is the specific combination you crave, you can also try upgrading your peanut butter and jelly sandwich with chocolate chips, banana, or other sweet additions that replicate the taste or at least the character of the bygone snack.
