Costco Shoppers Love These Frozen Kirkland Veggies For Quick Weeknight Stir-Fries
Is there any busy weeknight dinner that delivers the best of convenience and taste like a good stir-fry? When that intersection between speedy and yumminess is the goal, veggies, a protein, and some rice or noodles are a wham-bam combination that always makes us happy. Perhaps the perfect shortcut to amazing stir-fry has been found at Costco.
That Costco's private label goods are legit is no surprise, but we were ready to ascend when we discovered the Kirkland Signature Stir-Fry Vegetable Blend. This 5.5-pound bag is generous enough to feed even a large family, and the reviews leave no doubt that this is one worthy bag of greens.
"The stir fry veggies are a mainstay in our Costco runs," one Redditor stated. "Such good value for a fantastic frozen veggie blend." Another happy customer gushed, "I eat this at least once a day! Throw it straight from frozen into the microwave, drain excess liquid and dip in sauce of choice." Over on another Reddit thread, the love train continued. The headline called the stir-fry mix "[a] game changer for getting vegetables into [the] diet," and continued, "a rare case of the product actually looks like the picture on the packet!"
These frozen veggies have us excited about the possibilities
One of the things that really revs our engine about these Kirkland Signature stir-fry veggies is how effortless they would make meal-planning. If you use pouches of microwave rice, a protein that you've already cut up and seasoned, along with perhaps a three-ingredient stir-fry sauce, most of the work is done. If you don't have a big family to feed, we'd suggest breaking this jumbo bag of veggies down into smaller gallon-sized zipper bags so that they are already portioned in the freezer.
Frozen vegetables can be a touch watery, and we've found that high heat is the best way to combat this effect. A screaming-hot pan (preferably a wok, the curved sides of which allow for the max surface area to be crisped) is your best friend when it comes to cooking frozen veggies, although we've also heard good things about making frozen veggies in the air fryer.
Although these frozen veggies weren't on our list of April's hot Costco items, we're definitely picking up a pack or two on the next haul.
