Oreos are one of the most popular food brands, and while many of us have 'em with milk (though precisely how it's done varies a lot), dunking these iconic cookies isn't the only way to enjoy them. This crunchy snack is a key ingredient in a delicious dip that will satisfy even the most demanding sweet tooth. All you have to do is mix some crumbled-up Oreos into a bowl with cream cheese, powdered sugar, and a splash of vanilla. The results make for the ultimate movie night, game night, or sleepover treat.

You can prepare this dip way ahead of when it's needed, as it only takes minutes to put together, but before you get started, let the cream cheese reach room temperature so it's easy to blend, even if you're using a stand mixer. Oh, and don't forget to add a tiny pinch of salt or even a little sprinkle of MSG (we love it in chocolate chip cookies) to amp up the sweet flavor.

When the creamy mixture is ready to rock, you can turn your attention to the crumbled Oreos, which should be the last ingredient added to the dip. You're looking for chunks of cookie that are big enough to make you squeal with glee when you dig them out, but small enough to merge with the other ingredients in each scoop. Basically, don't smash them into oblivion or you'll lose the dip's textural interest.

There's plenty of room for variation in this dip

Some people add Cool Whip or marshmallow creme to their Oreo dip, though we've found that whipped cream is a delightful alternative. It can even make the whole thing feel a little lighter, depending on how much of it you're making. The powdered sugar can also be switched out, such as for brown sugar, while you could use one of several sugar alternatives we recommend for coffee to sweeten your dip as well.

We think this dip would be brilliant with all kinds of cookies (goodness knows there are plenty of them at Dollar Tree), whether they are sandwiched with creme or not. Lemon, ginger, or coconut cookies would all complement the mild, creamy dip, or you could opt for plain types like graham crackers, perhaps throwing in chopped strawberries or raspberries for added zing.

As for how you scoop it into your face? Whether you stick to the classic Oreo dip or decide to mix it up with other treats, slices of tart Granny Smith and even earthy chunks of celery will help temper the richness, while vanilla wafers will ensure you get a good mouthful. Or you could simply open a pack of mini Oreo cookies and have at it with those.
