What Is Chick-Fil-A's Little Blue Menu Really?
If you are an avowed superfan of Chick-fil-A, you undoubtedly know much of the lore about the fast food chicken giant. You've heard about its new, family-friendly streaming platform, and you've even memorized the ingredients in Chick-fil-A sauce. What you're about to hear is likely a surprise, however: in College Park, Maryland, Chick-fil-A opened a one-of-a-kind test kitchen called Little Blue Menu. The color scheme is blue instead of red, but that is far from the biggest difference.
On Chick-fil-A's own website, it refers to Little Blue Menu as "an innovation kitchen brand." The inspiration behind the name came from Chick-fil-A founder S. Truett Cathy, who tried out new menu items and showed them off to customers on — you guessed it — a little blue menu. At the Little Blue Menu location, you can find all the Chick-fil-A favorites you love, like the classic chicken sandwich, nuggets, and milkshakes. However, there is also an expansive menu of what CFA calls "soon-to-be favorites" ... including burgers.
At Little Blue Menu, Chick-fil-A experiments with new products
It sounds like yet another Chick-fil-A controversy: eating beef at the restaurant with the cow mascot? Chick-fil-A pizza? At Little Blue Menu, however, these things are a reality. A Reddit post gave an in-depth look at the menu as it appeared in early 2024, which offered several types of pizza, many of which are adorned by Chick-fil-A nuggets and signature sauces. There are also bone-in wings, either roasted or smoked. The menu also features onion wings, sweet potato tots, and an assortment of dessert pastries. The burgers sound delicious, featuring juicy double patties and a wealth of cheese and toppings. The Redditor who posted the pictures called the food "absolutely phenomenal."
Just like a normal Chick-fil-A location, Little Blue Menu offers dine-in, drive-thru, mobile ordering, and catering. And, yes, it is closed on Sundays. You're probably wondering if the menu offerings at Little Blue Menu are a sign of things to come at your local Chick-fil-A. Don't get too excited. USA Today asked the same question and was told directly by corporate that there are "no plans" to start rolling out pizza or burgers nationwide at Chick-fil-A locations.
