Chuck E. Cheese Birthdays As An Adult: Here's What To Expect
When Guy Fieri shared his top tip for hosting a party, we're not sure if he had Chuck E. Cheese in mind. Maybe he should have, though! Come to find out, there's no age limit as to who can celebrate a CEC party. Take it straight from Chuck's website: "At Chuck E. Cheese we welcome everyone at any age! Age limits for a party package? Never!"
At the home of Charles Entertainment Cheese (Chuck E.'s government name, for those not in the loop), "a kid can be a kid." Turns out that, at CEC, adults can be kids, too ... at least, for two hours minimum. As of this writing, party packages for up to six participants start at just $99. If you want to add some of Chuck E. Cheese's famed pizza or get ticket bonuses for your guests, there is also per-head pricing that we feel is pretty darn reasonable. Note that birthday cake is not included.
Of course, there are limits. We've discussed why you should think twice before bringing wine to a dinner party, and you definitely should not bring booze for your CEC shindig ... this is, after all, an establishment patronized largely by children. That doesn't mean adults can't cut loose! Expect unlimited skeeball, Whack-a-Mole, and your other favorite games. And in the end, you, too, can trade in tickets for prizes. Your table is yours to decorate as you wish and, per social media accounts, will be adorned with the name of the birthday kid and their age ... no matter what that age happens to be.
The internet can't get enough of adult parties at Chuck E. Cheese
Social media is enraptured by the news that grown-ups can party like grade schoolers at Chuck E. Cheese, and reports of successful parties can be found on multiple platforms. On Reddit, a bridesmaid wondered about the feasibility of throwing a (G-rated) bachelorette at Chuck E. Cheese — and was encouraged to book a party. Anecdotal reports say that the establishment is amenable to parties of all kinds, from quinceañeras to retirements to anniversaries, but that the online system requires that you book everything as a birthday party. Contact the restaurant in advance to firm up the details of your celebration.
On Instagram, one vlogger hilariously broke down the appeal of a Chuck E. Cheese party for adults, pointing out that CEC has everything that Dave & Buster's does, only smaller and cheaper. "Ol' Charles know what he doin' with that oven," the creator drawled, noting that the pizza is really delicious, and, in this economy, adults should take advantage of cheap thrills where they can get them. "They ended up allowing it and even encouraging it," confirmed one new 29-year-old on YouTube who threw himself a birthday party at Chuck's. Several Redditors chimed in that they — all established adults — would love a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party; several were even in the midst of planning one. "You are never too old to party at Chuck E Cheese," one commenter enthused earnestly. "They will always be something for everybody."
