Texas Roadhouse Vs Logan's Roadhouse: Who Has The Better Deal On Ribeye?

No matter where you order it, it's hard to argue with the supremacy of a great ribeye steak. There's a difference between ribeye and (also popular) New York strip steak, but we love ribeye for its exquisite marbling, tenderness, and big, beefy flavor. It's not surprising, then, that when we hit a steakhouse, we like to indulge in a fine cut of ribeye. Between Logan's Roadhouse and Texas Roadhouse, two casual steakeries with very similar-sounding names, who's got the best price on this steak? That's what we set out to investigate.

Surprising nobody at this point, Texas Roadhouse comes out on top. When we compared Texas Roadhouse to Outback Steakhouse on cheaper sirloin and Texas versus LongHorn Steakhouse with regard to burgers, the restaurant named for the Lone Star State came through both times, delivering great deals and great food. To check out the ribeye situation, we compared prices at two restaurants in the Orlando, Florida metro area for the best head-to-head measurement.

Logan's Roadhouse currently has two options for ribeye: a 12-ounce and a 16-ounce signature cut. The former goes for $29.89, and the latter for $34.49. Over at Texas Roadhouse, the analogs of those two steaks, the same sizes of the Ft. Worth Ribeye, were selling for $27.49 and $31.99, respectively. Not only does Texas Roadhouse have better prices on its ribeye, but a closer look at its menu also shows that it has more options when it comes to this beloved cut of steak.

Texas Roadhouse has more options for ribeye

Where Texas Roadhouse really shines on the topic of ribeye, in our opinion, is with its options for steak-loving guests. Not only does it offer the 12-ounce and 16-ounce versions of its boneless ribeye to compare directly to Logan's Roadhouse, but it also features a 14-ounce version for those folks who want something in the middle. What's more, Logan's Roadhouse doesn't feature a bone-in ribeye, which Texas Roadhouse does — in a beefy 20-ounce version that runs $34.99 at our sample restaurant.

We have to say that, in other regards, Texas Roadhouse and Logan's Roadhouse offer highly similar meals. Both steakhouses offer a choice of two sides with your steak, and the list of side options is varied and generous. Both also offer multiple choices for dressing up your beef: Logan's Roadhouse serves up diverse sauce and topping choices (more than Texas Roadhouse, to be fair), as well as the option to make your meal a combo by adding another protein like salmon, chicken, or shrimp. Texas Roadhouse is not exactly a slouch in this department either, as it lets you add sautéed mushrooms and onions, cheese, or a skewer of grilled shrimp.

While it's a fact that Logan's Roadhouse offers more customizations for your steak, Texas Roadhouse has the upper hand when it comes to steak choices themselves, which is arguably more important ... to say nothing of the fact that its ribeye is also cheaper, which is the ace up its sleeve.
