Previous months have brought delicious new prepared foods, snacks that actually get us psyched to pack our lunch, and even a spicy ice cream flavor (which, admittedly, got divided reviews). 

Rolling into May, we're pretty excited for what's to come at Publix. There's a new flavor of PubSub — the sandwich sensations with more customizations than Subway — fresh ice cream varieties, and even a sweet sip you're sure to love. Availability and pricing are subject to vary, so you might want to check with your local store before making a dedicated trip. 

You don't necessarily need the best Texas-style BBQ brisket rub when Publix is doing the hard work for you! The grocery store rocked the food world when it announced that it was bringing smokehouse brisket to its deli, the crown jewel of which is a signature sub featuring brisket in spicy-sweet BBQ sauce, French fried onions, pickles, and Cheddar. In a world where PubSubs are a better option than about 90% of takeout, this is big stuff. Foodies wanting something a bit smaller can opt for the Stacked Brisket and Brioche Sandwich.

Springtime heralds the return of a beloved Publix ice cream: Home Run Caramel Popcorn. As per the label, this unique half gallon features caramel popcorn ice cream studded with a butter-toffee-and-popcorn bark. Bonus — you're (probably) way less likely to chip a tooth on this than a bag of caramel corn! It's just in time for baseball season really picking up, but we can imagine this flavor being a home run all summer long. Just remember that a plastic bag is the trick for soft, scoopable ice cream!

It's that time of year when amateur gardeners' minds turn to how to turn store-bought strawberries into a perfect garden starter. Yet you won't need to do any digging with this petite pie, which is big enough for yourself and two friends! It's not cheesecake, but the cream cheese in the filling and the graham cracker crust sure make our minds move in that direction. It's sweet, tart, and creamy, just the way we like it.

You currently can't buy Crumbl cookies at the grocery store, but who would want to when you have these returning favorites in the Publix bakery? We remember from last year that these aren't too sweet and feature the faintest tangy kiss of tart flavor, which we appreciate. 

If you fancy a shandy or a raddler to up your beer game this summer, you might be tempted by Publix's flavored lemonades, the newest of which features an intriguing concoction of peach and coconut. Even teetotalers will be intrigued by this sweet sip with a tropical twist! It joins Unsweetened Peach Flavored Black Tea and Honey Flavored Chamomile Ginger Herbal Tea in the deli case. Decant it into a fancy dispenser, and you have the perfect summertime centerpiece.

It's not a new product in general, but Publix only just started carrying Lactaid's lactose-free creamer. For those who are lactose intolerant, having a delicious splash for their morning coffee just got a lot more convenient. Don't get us wrong, we love non-dairy alternatives to cow's milk, but Lactaid products tend to come closest to the "real" thing ... minus the gut pain and distress. Suffice it to say, this is a happy sight on our supermarket shelves. 

This bread is egg-free and dairy-free, making it wholly vegan. It's the perfect slice for topping with a canned veggie that can compete with avocado toast, especially given that it has guacamole seasoning already mixed in. We'd normally be leery of grabbing a random vegan loaf off shelves, having been burnt by dry, tasteless bread before, but we trust the Publix bakery and GreenWise name enough to give this one a try.
